Yesterday @Jillianmarisa and I installed new bluebird boxes here at #DisOldHouse. We had a lot of fun with bluebirds at the old place, and this place is loads better (I think) for them.
This morning while tending the chickens I spotted a fella already checking out the back one. Squeee!

If you are looking for a distraction, or just wholesome anecdotes derailing the entirety of our first bluebird experience, the thread is below. I hope to make a similar thread this year. Last year was a success, but very disjointed and poorly documented.

Both bluebird nestboxes have been taken over by invasive house sparrows. I love being a bird landlord, but I hate the “management” of the bad guys. I used to be a live-let-live kinda guy. But they actively compete with the natives which are in steep decline.
Time to find my VanErtTraps…
