Today in sensible arguments presented to city council:
We're worried that adding more people to our neighbourhood will reduce the number of students at the school and cause it to close.

The best part is that this read from a community league chair who had been a city councillor 30ish years ago. Who also said something to the effect of "we knew approving all that sprawl was going to leave a big budget problem for a future council to solve, but you need to solve it more gradually."
