Hey Fediverse,
I've created a Fediverse Starter Pack for metal musicians and bands on metalhead.club:
If you're a metal fan: Don't miss to follow them!
(the pack will be updated as more and more bands agree to participate
)@thomas So I'm quite new to this Fediverse-thing. Is there any other metal related things besides Metalhead.club? It really looks empty compared to other social medias...

@jarno_afj Follow people, that is the only way to get a full timeline. And take a look at your local server timeline. And use pachs like the one, Thomas created. Then content will come.

@jarno_afj @thomas following hash tags is also a good idea!
But yeah it is just generally a lot quieter here and most musicians are not here (yet)

@philphi @jarno_afj yes, the Fediverse cannot (yet?
) keep up with the big social networks in regards of "having popular persons on board".We have plenty of bands on metalhead.club, but those are smaller / less known bands. You won't find any Parkway Drive or even Metallica profile here.
I've contacted some of the famous bands but didn't even get a reply. Probably my emails got stuck somewhere or were immediately deleted because they don't care.
Most of the bands have different priorities. They care about the big social networks where they can reach 300,000 users at once instead of 56 fans on the Fediverse

Yeah, contacting bigger bands is always unlikely to get anywhere. They get so many messages even their secretaries / media managers have a hard time. Ya gotta know people to be able to directly contact one of them or their managers.
The best we could do is campaign to solicit smaller but, (signed and) touring bands who have a few hundred to a few thousand followers elsewhere. Along with their fans perhaps.
We need to promote in clubs, venues, and anywhere that the shows would be. Maybe even have in person metalhead gatherings to onboard. Sort of like a LUG (Linux User Group) that brings in newbies.

@GothFvck @thomas @philphi @jarno_afj we could have invited bands and do like a Metalhead Club Fest??? Sounds fuckin awesome tbh

What sorts of metal related things are you looking for?
I've got a few hundred bookmarks. Maybe I'll reorganize and post more to my Listography and share.

@jarno_afj yes! Following #hashtags is a good idea. e.g. I follow the tags #metal #progressiveMetal and some more because I like that kind of music.
And then there's always the metalhead.club Directory (if you like metal) with interesting users who you can follow: https://metalhead.club/directory
If you _really_ want to get the full metal experience, I'd suggest to sign up on metalhead.club because that will make our local timeline accessible to you. With lots of metal discussions but also other topics
