    Yes, but he is an antagonist, not a villain. He has reasons which might be understandable from his point of view.

    And if he didn't exist, the story would be super boring.

      @anderlandbooks That's the way it should be, IMO. Cardboard cut-out villains rarely make for interesting stories. Now if there's an internal logic to what they're doing, that can make them interesting.
