@arratoon I don't even want to guess how long I would have to be shut in with all the books I have on the physical and digital to-read piles. I just hit up Standard Ebooks for a bunch of classic titles (and donated!) a couple of weeks ago.

I am working on a book about the reading habits of medieval English recluses. Maybe my subconscious is trying to tell me something. 😂

@kristenhg Ha ha. An anchoress but for literature! I just finished Orbital by Samantha Harvey this morning, and I loved it.

@kristenhg Ooh, I just wrote ‘anchoress’ without having checked your bio!

Did you ever see the film The Anchoress? Low-budget British film from the early 90s.

An embarrassing number of the books on this list are sitting in my house, as paperbacks or ebooks, waiting (sometimes for years) for me to read them. But I have actually read about a third of the Guardian's best 100 books of all time at some point in my life.

        #books #literature

I've read 32 out of 100 on the list. How many have you read?

@kristenhg I don't think their list is very good. But then again, nobody is making me do this!

I read 1 (didn't like it much), 1/4 of one and 1/8 of a third. I read books, but I won't any longer pick up a book from these lists

@treehugger Some of these I read as a teenager and liked, but I don't think I totally understood what I was reading. I'd like to give them another go now.

The list of 100 books does seem very uk-centric though that's just a first impression--I haven't counted.
