Took a tiny car to the Melbourne Motor Show.

This show is interesting for what brands are there, and who didn't turn up.

@vwdasher it’s about time for some innovation in horse transport

@Will it's actually quite neatly laid out, I think some horse owners will be very interested in it.
-
Boo! I reckon they'd sell well here.

@thefathippy me too! Was pissed off when I realised it was missing. Goddammit. Also the new Scenic is enormous.
-
Presented in no particular order other than this is what we passed as we headed for one particular stand.

@vwdasher we are seriously considering one of those Kia PV5 Passenger vans.

@BitchinRob They start at $56K here according to their signage, which is a fucktonne cheaper than a Buzz! I can see them selling well. Lot cheaper than an imported Alphard as well.

@vwdasher they are well priced here. There are a few hints is van based and built to a tight budget but it’s probably all I need to see me out.
We’ll probably wait for 7 seat version prices before making a decision although 5 seat would suit us just fine.
£15-18k for a 10+yo Alphard here so high £30s for a new van with 7 year warranty seems far better value to me.
We’ve had a crawl around one but not driven it yet (I fear I couldn’t resist buying it if I drive it)

@BitchinRob check out the Chinese vans too, well worth considering. Reasonable pricing, and quite fancy. And 7 seaters.

@vwdasher tbh we’ve rather stick to legacy brands as it’s a long time purchase and we have absolutely loved the Soul and Niro ownership experience including the service from our small family run and owned dealership.
Most of the Chinese stuff I’ve seen is either too big or ugly to my eyes the PV5 looks just right (to me).

@BitchinRob It's a nice looking thing!
People are importing Alphards here because Toyota won't sell em. Hyundai's Carnival is a popular one too, there's still a demand for vans here. Be interesting to see how these newcomers go.

@Basmitharts @vwdasher it’s about the only way to move a horse about with a regular car (which allows light vans below 3500kg) driving license now so they seem quite common. I think I see of them than trailers theses days

@BitchinRob @vwdasher It would be convenient for taking them to the vet or something ,but not a lot of room for tack and stuff.
