AI is changing fast, and we are making sure our rules keep up.

We welcome today’s agreement between the European Parliament and the EU Council on simpler, innovation-friendly rules for Artificial Intelligence, including:

🛡️ Better protection against harmful AI-generated content.

🚀 More support for European start-ups and innovators.

🗓️ A clear timeline for when these rules start to apply.

We are making Europe a hub for innovation that you can trust.

@EUCommission want to make the EU a hub we can trust? Ban AI.

It is fundamantally impossible to make it safe, or ethical.

                  @EUCommission

how can we trust the EU "making Europe a hub for innovation that you can trust" when AI is the biggest polluter and energy slob EVER, and the population has to bear the costs of it – literally and figuratively?? How can we trust the EUC for taking care of the PEOPLE of Europe, when they forget about the PEOPLE of Europe and just go for the money industry brings in?

You don't care about throwing our privacy details in public by using the no-privacy at all American servers. So don't say we can trust you, because obviously we can NOT.

@EUCommission Didn't Ursula von der Leyen block a fine to Google just this week? How do you reconcile this action from your president with what you posted here? How are you going to protect us from big tech if your president is going to do everything in her power to make sure companies like Google are never held accountable?

AI is changing fast, and we are making sure our rules keep up.

We welcome today’s agreement between the European Parliament and the EU Council on simpler, innovation-friendly rules for Artificial Intelligence, including:

🛡️ Better protection against harmful AI-generated content.

🚀 More support for European start-ups and innovators.

🗓️ A clear timeline for when these rules start to apply.

We are making Europe a hub for innovation that you can trust.

@EUCommission So for the EC, the protection of citizen is about one thing *only*: sexual use, like "nudification apps" and child protection.
What about looting human knowledge, manipulating opinions, slopify everything, taking control of businesses and institutions and a zillion of other juicy business and political "opportunities"? That's OK, as long as citizen "feel safe".
Call us stupid, that will be shorter.

You are not addressing the main problem: environmental devastation from AI energy demand. NOT WORTH IT.

Also, we all have a duty not to hide the reality, especially for the future of future generations!

Meet the academics refusing to use generative AI | Panagiotis Gioannis

“Researchers say they have their reasons for avoiding AI tools - and they’re sick of arguing about it.”   The issue is that the percentage seeking real quality research is heading towards being a minority.   Starting from its birthplace, the inappropriate use of AI is present. The only thing certain is that fundamental principles of Science are heading towards extinction: https://lnkd.in/gWtgK9ju [How we drive ΑΙ against Science]   As a recent simple example, from the core of the Next Generation, our student: https://lnkd.in/dF9vaS3r [Don’t let your students use AI as a ghostwriter]     Unfortunately, misuse is everywhere:   Vibe Coding: https://lnkd.in/drctsFwN [If you close your eyes and you don’t look at the code and you have AIs build things with shaky foundations]   Vibe Literature: https://lnkd.in/dfzEddMb [‘Soon publishers won’t stand a chance’: literary world in struggle to detect AI-written books]   Vibe Science: https://lnkd.in/dK2hFN_5 [Towards end-to-end automation of AI research]   Vibe Human: https://lnkd.in/dqSUweyM [We have entered the era of human-AI centaurs: composite actors that are neither purely human nor purely machine]   Vibe Lawyer: https://lnkd.in/dJNwHuZq [AI hallucinations found in high-profile Wall Street law firm filing]   Vibe Teaching: https://lnkd.in/d_BhwYnK [The usual concern is that students will stop thinking. That they will rely on AI to do the work.]   Vibe Student: https://lnkd.in/db27yDVJ           [Why I may ‘hire’ AI instead of a graduate student]     Therefore, we all need to start thinking: https://lnkd.in/dUvvnGKk [We will all be happy if everyone chooses what purpose they are intended for in the era of AI]
