    What else is new in GNOME 50?

    Files app brings us numerous improvements like:
    - Faster thumbnail and icon loading.
    - Reduction in memory usage.
    - A new dialog for managing captions

        @meluzzy @gnome you can write thumbnail generators that Nautilus will use; the spec hasn’t been updated, but there’s buy-in from KDE as well: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/xdg-specs/-/work_items/201

          @ebassi @gnome I guess I could hack something together to make f3d render thumbnails for 3D files... likely someone has already done this.
