I've been fighting my fileserver and its OcuLink port for a while now. Using an SFF-8611 to SFF-8611 cable from Amazon and an adapter board from OcuLink to PCIe card edge, I just can't seem to get any device enumerated.
I just found this reddit thread. Let's cut some traces and let's see if it actually makes it work!

@G33KatWork I would try just the short of CPRST# first. Seems the most probable culprit.

@tnt That was exactly it! I modified the B side only and then went to dinner with the family.
I just tried it with only the one side modified and it finally works, so I guess it's really only the presence detect pin.
So it's the fault of all the Chinese adapter boards that they don't pass that pin through to the card?

@G33KatWork Would need to be beeped out or check on the card itself ... I actually have one coming in the mail tomorrow
I'm also looking into those board with PCIe switches on them, got one ordered and the second one, vendor cancelled order so gotta find another one
