    I've been fighting my fileserver and its OcuLink port for a while now. Using an SFF-8611 to SFF-8611 cable from Amazon and an adapter board from OcuLink to PCIe card edge, I just can't seem to get any device enumerated.

    I just found this reddit thread. Let's cut some traces and let's see if it actually makes it work!

      @G33KatWork I would try just the short of CPRST# first. Seems the most probable culprit.

        @tnt That was exactly it! I modified the B side only and then went to dinner with the family.
        I just tried it with only the one side modified and it finally works, so I guess it's really only the presence detect pin.
        So it's the fault of all the Chinese adapter boards that they don't pass that pin through to the card?

          @G33KatWork Would need to be beeped out or check on the card itself ... I actually have one coming in the mail tomorrow πŸ˜…

          I'm also looking into those board with PCIe switches on them, got one ordered and the second one, vendor cancelled order so gotta find another one πŸ˜…
