    Why should anyone put link-local IPv6 addresses in AAAA records for their MX server?

    zimbra.elbe-net.de.	600	IN	AAAA	fe80::250:56ff:fe01:7f8

    Is there a good reason for this?

    #dns #mx #ipv6

      @i the only reason I can think of is if someone doesn't have a local/internal DNS server.... or someone screwed up.

      I've seen RFC1918 IPv4 addresses registered in external DNS all the time πŸ™„

      It's a pretty silly thing to do....

        @chewie@mammut.gogreenit.net I mean at some point they're going to notice that something isn't right, right?

          @i don't count on it! I've seen RFC1918 ones in there for months, if not years πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
