@i the only reason I can think of is if someone doesn't have a local/internal DNS server.... or someone screwed up.
I've seen RFC1918 IPv4 addresses registered in external DNS all the time

It's a pretty silly thing to do....

@i don't count on it! I've seen RFC1918 ones in there for months, if not years
