When I first saw "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," I was struck by the powerful and unsettling representation of the relationship between human freedom, mental suffering, and institutions. Today, 50 years after its release, that film continues to speak to us. And perhaps it speaks to us even more than it did then.
