Seems modern Conservatives have forgotten that they’re supposed to be fiscally conservative.
In 2018 Doug Ford blamed the Wynne Liberal government for handing him a large debt. In the seven years since he’s been a much bigger spender with several right leaning organizations reporting it, like the Fraser Institute:
“Doug Ford spending more than ‘reckless’ Wynne”

“Ford to blame for Ontario’s surging debt”
https://www.taxpayer.com/newsroom/ford-to-blame-for-ontario%E2%80%99s-surging-debt?id=18485The Financial Post:
“Doug Ford is partying like Kathleen Wynne”
https://financialpost.com/opinion/doug-ford-partying-like-kathleen-wynneThe Toronto Sun:
“Ford outspending Wynne government he condemned for overspending”
