I'm an early riser even in my own time zone, and my family are normal people who sleep to a normal time.

@dillyd I almost never see it in Toronto.
@JoBlakely
I see it in Quebec, but on a very different scale. -
@dillyd I'm like this with lichen when I'm hiking.
@a_phlaming_phoenix lol me too! I have a tshirt to wear when I'm hiking with other people, that says, "you guys go on ahead. I'm gonna dilly dally."

@dillyd being able to see moss is such a lovely skill.
@wmd out here, you could blindfold somebody and spin them around, tell them to walk straight ahead, and they would find moss within a few steps.

Yes, thanks! I'm regaining the lost joy! π₯°
@riversidebryan I'm so glad. I feel like it's just inherently more social than pixelfed. I know you got tired of the reply guys before. Here's hoping they leave you alone.

How many people living in Rome stop to take a photo of the Colosseo?
@GustavinoBevilacqua
I would if I lived there

@dillyd Ive seen people walk and trip over a forest full and not notice it.

My family who live in the Pacific Northwest think I'm kind of weird for taking so many photos of moss. It blends into the background for them. But I can never get enough of it.

@ClimateJenny good morning Jenny! I just saw your profile quote from pilgrim at tinker creek. I should read that again.
@dillyd Funny story: While taking my daughter to visit colleges, we were eating lunch at a little neighborhood restaurant that had a window with a view of the *actual Tinker Creek*, which was surging with rainwater at the time.
We asked the waitress if she had heard of Annie Dillard. She had not.

@wmd true, some people really don't notice nature

@dillyd @a_phlaming_phoenix "what is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stop and stare?" -
