Here are stories of modern and historical women in tech and digital rights that inspire us. How many did you already know? #InternationalWomensDay

Three women who we've celebrated with EFF Awards recently:

        - Carolina Botero, digital rights leader in Latin America
        - Chelsea Manning, whistleblower, transparency and transgender rights advocate
        - Annie Game, former director of IFEX, a global hub for the protection of free speech and journalism

Admiring Our Heroes for International Women’s Day: Celebrating Women Who Have Received EFF Awards

Women in tech deserve more and brighter spotlights. At EFF, we’ve had the honor of celebrating some of our heroes at our annual EFF Awards, including many women who are leading the digital rights community. In this blog, we recognize Carolina Botero (EFF Award Winner, 2024), Chelsea Manning (EFF Award Winner, 2017), and Annie Game (EFF Award Winner, 2017).

EFF defends privacy and free expression because technology should serve all people, not just the powerful.

We’re a nonprofit powered by members, and we need you in this fight—especially if you don't feel represented in or by tech. Become a member for just $25 per year: https://supporters.eff.org/donate/join-4--iwxx

@eff I used to donate to you, but then you decided to defend a forum whose entire purpose is harassing trans and neurodivergent people to the point of driving them to suicide — something they openly brag about, including the times they succeeded.

You also defend crypto, an industry that consists almost entirely of money laundering and crime, and one that has been among the biggest backers of Trump. So you are part (admittedly a very tiny part) of the reason things are as fucked as they are now.
