You know what I miss?

@ipsquiggle @krinslife I think the #joinin hashtag might be what you're looking for?
@secretsloth @ipsquiggle
Maybe! Feels like a tag worth following irrespective of whether or fits this specific idea. Thanks for sharing. -
@ipsquiggle thanks for the response, these are good bits of advice, and I'm adopting a lot of it already (vive la internet culture circa 2000-2005!)
My thought behind a (single) hashtag is so maybe someone interesting will stumble on the idea and join me, or at least be able to filter for "don't need Krin's general life updates, but that stuff she shares once a week is valuable".
Side note from looking at your bio: I have sunk many, many hours into Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included. Thanks for your efforts on those delightful games, they're amongst my favourite of all time.
@krinslife Heh, I have a dream for the Fediverse, where hashtags work a bit like microcommunities (explicitly, not accidentally) precisely to solve this idea of "I want the version of ipsquiggle that makes games to be visible through this hashtag, for your following pleasure". I try and remember to tag my posts, but it doesn't actually offer the right affordance for me to reliably remember, nor for someone else to selectively engage it. Ah well..

@krinslife Awesome, I always love finding someone who has actually played them haha!

@ipsquiggle is this the time for "Pobodies Nerfect"? All we can do is try. Perfect consistency is for robots, which rolls us back to the beginning idea of this conversation

Thanks for sharing.@krinslife @ipsquiggle I know there are others but my brain isn't working, @vlrny do you know which ones I'm forgetting? The hashtags for sharing something cool you just found and want to share? Besides joinin? I know I've come across some.

You know what I miss? Real humans sharing cool stuff they admire with other humans, not just allowing the feed to hopefully serve it up to you.
I'm thinking about a weekly "cool thing I liked" post. Think song, video, book, article, art, etc.
Is there a Mastodon hashtag for this? Still finding my way in this subculture.
@krinslife You might like #ThreeGoodThings

@krinslife Create such a hashtag and make it flourish. I would follow and tag things as appropriate. Maybe #OneCoolThing

@krinslife 100% agree; I do tag when I remember (and thank goodness that most mastodon clients hide bottom-tags, so you can do it "guilt-free!") and I try to follow good people and boost healthy posts and (..mostly...) make healthy posts... Being the change I want to see etc. in this more human-powered social network

@krinslife You might like #ThreeGoodThings
@ArtseaGardener @krinslife
Came here to also recommend #ThreeGoodThings
Many people post daily, many people post often, very many people post that they find reading others’ posts as uplifting as noting their own good things. All are welcome. -

Wow, that's a great hashtag to follow. I'm glad this idea has led you both to share it with me. -

@VisualStuart
I think we have a winner, let's do it.Following a chat with a colleague I'm going to also use #krinsrecs as in Recommendations by Krin, for my specific contribution. We both agreed that a wider option was needed so others could also embrace it and I returned to find this idea.

@krinslife you know about the hashtag #3goodthings ? People post cool things they experienced on any given day, also good things with other people.

I was going to suggest ThreeGoodThings too. I guess that's the most general one.
Of course there's millions of specific topics hashtags, things that people make like drawing, photography, 3dprinting, maps, books, woodworking, cooking, writing, metalworking, and things that people recommend. Try reading, film, etc. And I agree that it's all in who and what you follow. My feed is like half full of people saying look what I made, look what I found, look what I saw, look what I read, look what I learned. If you don't see enough of that, keep adding accounts and hashtags, it's all out there already!
There's more people with their own individual hashtags like you suggested. I just don't know who to recommend, it's very individual.
And you might like # MakersHour

Agreed, as a maker, I almost certainly will enjoy # MakersHour, celebrating other's joy in creating things is amongst the things I enjoy most. Thanks for the recommendation. -

@secretsloth @krinslife @ipsquiggle
Haha I think the problem with fedi is there's so much sharing of "cool thing I liked" it's all broken into subcategories. Like #mosstodon #visibleMending #retroComputing etc...
#magicInTheMundane might be close to the vibe.
I also do a @joybooster account where boost a lot of stuff with people just nerding out about stuff that makes them happy.Edit: adding #oneCoolThing tag suggested. Eg:
One cool thing this week...
One cool thing about [nerdy hobby]... -

@krinslife @VisualStuart we totally need a hashtag for this.

@krinslife sometimes people share cool things they liked on the #Today hashtag.
