Together with Commissioner Glenn Micallef, we presented an Action Plan Against Cyberbullying aimed at giving children, parents, carers and educators the tools they need to prevent, report and combat cyberbullying.
The Action Plan focuses on three pillars to strengthen the response to cyberbullying:
️ A coordinated EU approach to protection
️ Prevention and awareness
️ Reporting and comprehensive supportOver the past five years, cyberbullying has consistently been the main reason young people contact Safer Internet Centres’ helplines. One in four young people aged 12 to 17 report having experienced cyberbullying, eroding trust and self-esteem.

This Action Plan is a concrete step towards preventing cyberbullying and better supporting those affected. It calls on the EU and Member States to build a coordinated response to address this challenge at every level.
This is how we ensure that children and young people have the right to safely seek information, learn, be connected and become engaged members of society.
