This is so "peak 2026" - writing an equality policy to ensure people treat our AI bot with the same respect as they do their human counterparts. It's intentionally a bit tongue-in-cheek, but it's there for a purpose: we simply don't have the capacity to deal with every request we

I had an argument with him on bsky a while ago about his use of slop images on the blog, after I'd posted about slop images on security blogs being a tell of infosec mall ninjas. very sad.

@davidgerard Imagine being so head melted that you want people to treat your environmental catastrophe chat bot like a vulnerable minority. 'I'm just kidding, guys, also I'm not kidding.'

@davidgerard so if I refer to him as a #ClankerWanker does that count as insulting both him and his chatbot in one go? Do I get some sort of bonus points for the two-in-one?

@mtconleyuk @davidgerard It's a classic Schrodinger’s douchebag move. Call it out and push back whenever you see it.

@davidgerard if hunt believed what he wrote for a single second, he'd not speak of needing bruce to be the coalface of support (which is, frankly, quite an astonishing phrase when used about an entity he argues deserves respect) but either offered bruce an employment contract or employed actual humans.

For folks unaware of the reference, it's from a conversation between Granny Weatherwax and Rev. Mightily Oats, in Terry Pratchett's Carpe Jugulum. Quoted:

“And sin, young man, is when you treat people like things. Including yourself. That’s what sin is.”
“It’s a lot more complicated than that –”
“No. It ain’t. When people say things are a lot more complicated than that, they means they’re getting worried that they won’t like the truth. People as things, that’s where it starts.”
“Oh, I’m sure there are worse crimes –”
“But they starts with thinking about people as things …”

@davidgerard I genuinely cannot tell if this is satire or real.

                        This is satire, right?
