I need to ramble about something for a minute.

As a medium, I experience a lot of things in dreams. Some of the most visceral paranormal interactions and encounters I have are during sleep paralysis episodes as well. So, I just fell back asleep because bowling was canceled this morning due to the mound of snow we got on top of the blizzard the other day. I was asleep for an hour and a half. I would have been awake 45 minutes ago, but I was trying to shake myself from a sleep paralysis episode and a nightmare.

While I was trying to wake myself up, because my eyes were half open, I felt something lay beside me, then later on my chest. Not in a bad way, not something scary, but I could just barely make out a little black cat. It was my Esmeralda. So, I have a lot of questions about that. Did she just come and visit me because she was worried about me? Did she try to wake me up? Because I woke up right after I felt that weight on my chest. It worked.

I feel sick to my stomach now, a bit emotional, and I'm kinda still shaking from the sleepy paralysis episode as well. It's never fun.

@floofpaldi I do believe that pets who've passed on do come back and visit us when we need them, or when they know we just need some reassurance. I've felt or heard my little gerbils do similar things.

Sorry about your sleep paralysis, those are no fun. But I think Esmerelda was there to help out.

@therivercrow I absolutely agree. I've felt cats, my ferrets, my dog... They come back to visit us. In fact, I think I might have recorded an entire episode about it in the past for my show. But it was one I did like 4 years ago or so, so I can't remember the whole context.

I'm glad you felt the presence of your gerbils around. That's very sweet to hear. And I'm okay now, still kind of shaky, but I'll be right. I just haven't had sleep paralysis in a year or so. It sucks. It's honestly the worst.

@floofpaldi take it easy on yourself. I recommend herbal tea and a cozy book or game. πŸ’–

@therivercrow I think that's a wonderful idea. I might make some lunch, tea, and then settle down to play some Witcher or read. Either, or.

@floofpaldi I have had some extremely vivid dreams with both Bellatrix and Rassilon in. The last one, in fact, I was petting Rassy and woke up with my arm raised still patting the spot where he'd been in the dream. And even though Bella never lived in this house, they're always in here. I've seen flashes of movement out the corner of my eye a lot as well, assume it's Frank then realise he's in bed. I do think they come back to check up on us now and then. Except Snowball. Snowball doesn't GAF πŸ˜‚

@QuokkaMocha You and I have talked about the paranormal so often. When you said you woke up with your arm still raised, I really do believe Rassy was there. I've had a lot of animals visit me over the years, and I've always believed that they come back to say hello or to check in on us when things are tough.

Also, I had to crack up about the comment about Snowball. You will never NOT make me laugh. So, thank you, I needed that. That darn cat was like a mobster, tough and grizzled from a hard life of murdering humans. 🀣

@floofpaldi I am convinced Snowball had been a really tough as nails, will kill you with an insult that goes right to your soul drag queen in his former life. Only cat I've had who actually sashayed.
