Image of Arp 284, also known as NGC 7714 and NGC 7715, from the Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies by Halton Arp (1966).
In the original catalog, it was in the category: Double and multiple galaxies - Infall and attraction. NGC 7714 (bottom) and NGC 7715 (top) had a close encounter about 100 million to 200 million years ago. This created a bridge between the galaxies and a loop of stars extending from NGC 7714.
