Something rather different for me, a black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius;
Schwarzspecht) searching for food in the forest around @mpi_astro atop the Königstuhl. With only slight hints of a red crest, I suspect it's a female. The video is horribly compressed, as the woodpecker was high above me & I had the phone set to maximum zoom. But the pecking sounds are nice & you can also hear the bits of bark hitting the forest floor.

@kallekn Strange – there is sound when I view my post & the video in Mastodon.
Works for me in Firefox on my laptop & in the IceCubes app on my iPhone.

@markmccaughrean Hm, I do hear the sound on Pachli (Android app) but not on Vivaldi on the computer.
