Tuesday, Pope Leo XIV announced that his government, The Holy See, will not be joining Trump’s Board of Peace. That is a good thing.
However, the Board of Peace was announced on September 29, and they needed 141 days to come to the conclusion, that the Catholic Church would not help Trump create a corrupt version of the UN?
That I do not understand.
Well, the Catholic Church is renowned for acting at a glacial pace, so no wondering from my side. (And, as you wrote, they, at least, came to the right conclusion…)

@randahl What's 141 days to an organization with a 2000 year history?
-
@randahl
They were not invited until some time in January. It was still several weeks though, but maybe they had to have some kind of meeting before responding.@Susibryant
and I would hope that the delay was only over whether or not to dignify the invitation with a response at all.

I explain the position of the Catholic Church:
they didn't give a fuck about this Board and they just hoped nobody would ask them, so that their opposition went unnoticed.
that is standard Vatican diplomacy.but since there was a meeting with the Italian government (and Italy has accepted to partecipate as "observer") a journalist asked the Secretary of State Parolin what is the position of the Holy See, and he replied that they won't partecipate.

Perhaps they thought that if they kept quiet, it might just go away... And we all know that the hush-hush didn't work out so well for them, but apparently even holy donkeys don't learn from their mistakes.

@randahl They do have a history of ending up at the wrong side of history. So this is an improvement

@randahl I don't understand why it took 40 days to drown everyone.
