Whether you love AI or hate it, I don’t really care. It’s here. It’s working for some, and for the rest? Well, that’s their problem.

I use it. I use it at work because it’s policy, but also because I’m not interested in being a relic. Whether you agree with the tech is irrelevant; it isn’t going anywhere. You have two options: adapt or get left behind.

I’m already watching plenty of people choose the latter, whining while the world moves on without them. Every choice has a consequence. Pick a side and live with it.

@MartinGuay no, I don’t have to pick a side at all.

@OutsideCasey the reality is that you do. That's the reality since it's built into everything now. That's a fun fact. Agreeing or not doesn't matter at this point. We're entrenched in it.

@MartinGuay I think it's more being left out, than left behind. Usually you can only tell in the aftermath whether it was a step forward into the right direction 😉

@MartinGuay You SAY I do, the reality is that the more things change, the more they stay the same. I’m not a troglodyte, I see the use in limited cases. But no, I do not have to take a side. I reject your premise. People have been fear mongering in Tech long enough. I won’t give up my agency or understanding, because someone is shouting “FOMO”. I’m certainly not going to trust the machine. The world doesn’t have to be 1 thing. There’s room for so much more variety.

@OutsideCasey It isn't FOMO when it's integrated into the kernel, the search engine, and the enterprise tools you use to get paid. You can keep your agency, but you’re still working inside a machine that’s been rebuilt while you were rejecting the premise. It's not a shout; it's a status report.

It isn’t a shout, it’s a manual. You aren't losing agency by using a tool, but you do lose it by ignoring how the world is being re-coded. There’s room for variety, but there’s no room for technical debt. Good luck with the middle ground.

@MartinGuay “good luck with the middle ground” that’s the attitude I’m rejecting friend. Be well.

@OutsideCasey it is what it is, it will be what to be. The world will keep moving. Progress will keep pushing forward despite our attempts.
