Look, I know this isn't new behavior. I'm aware of who and what Cloudflare is.
But I'm tired of accepting ghoulish corpo behavior as part of my life.
The only way this changes is if their public image starts impacting their bottom line, or if regulation/legislation increases the risk of this behavior. I can't count on the latter, but I can sure as hell press on the former.

@mttaggart 1000% - not sure if you have already, but if you haven’t you should see how much of malicious infrastructure is stood up on cloudflares workers and pages dot dev. Not to mention how many of these sites have cloudflare protection in front of them. They’re just like any of these other tech monarchs. They’ll take anyone’s business and do the absolute bare fucking minimum to stop them.

@mttaggart Is there a reasonable alternative? I've typically used Cloudflare because they seem to be the only option for cheap/free DNS and domain management, and they do have some basic free protection which is fine for small sites
I can't say I know of any alternatives off the top of my head that don't boil down to "give Amazon/Microsoft truckloads of money"

I thought porkbun used cloudflare on the backed for some of their services. Maybe I'm misremembering.

@jargoggles @theeclecticdyslexic @mttaggart It also looks from chatter online that they have a reputation of suspending first and asking questions later... I guess they're on the opposite end of the spectrum from Cloudflare in that regard

I use Namecheap myself, but they are private equity-owned now.
