@paco @BenAveling it is just a stupid electronic device

@paco I couldn't imagine a cybertruck lasting a decade, let alone to the 22nd century #Monsterdon

Does there, or ever has there existed, a car that isn't or wasn't better looking than a cybertruck?

@paco "here's 200 horses!" was the best line of dialogue in the movie (low bar I know)
-
@paco I saw a Cybertruck today that was painted (or covered?) a light blue, and my thought was "hey that's kind of a nice shade of ugly"
-
@spacehobo That is true. It’s a detached house here. But I had a detached house in Surrey, too. So that much is the same on both sides.
I will say this. I like boilers and I really like radiated heat. But that stuff is super expensive here because it is rare. Nobody has the skills and nobody sells the equipment.
-
@paco I’m just here for the dinks

@paco that's a lot o' dink....

@paco "it's more of a mood board than a movie poster."
The IMDB one-liner plot summary is way off too:
"A 20th Century man wakes up in 2133, where men are slaves and women rule."
-
@paco That woman is a direct swipe of the famous promotional still of Raquel Welch from One Million Years B.C. This reminds me of the promotional poster created when "Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind" was butchered into "Warriors of the Wind." That poster included a a robot dressed like Doctor Doom, a Giant Warrior with a lightsaber, and a random dude flying a pegasus.
-
@paco The faceless monster is presumably just one of those... what were they called? Kraggs? I think I can almost even see the definitely not a Klingon forehead bump. I'm not so sure his gun looks futuristic. The main character did have a gun kind of vaguely like the little one at the top in the beginning of the movie. It made that tiny bird chirp sound.
That woman definitely was not in the movie by any measure.

@RachelThornSub @paco Oh wow. If someone turned Nausicaa into "Warriors of the Wind" they REALLY REALLY missed the point of that movie! (And, well, really most of the details along the way too...)

@nazokiyoubinbou @paco They cut 20 minutes and made the giant rolly pollies into bad guys.

@RachelThornSub @paco Alright, I can see why the Ohmu scared them, but if you're making them out to be the bad guys you 1000000% missed the point of the movie... Like to spectacular levels...

Miyazaki was furious. After that, he became extremely cautious about selling foreign rights. It was epically bad.

@paco@RachelThornSub @paco I can understand that! They really really screwed it up...

@paco@RachelThornSub TIL. That was fascinating.
