    @Lizette603_23 I haven't had the dream for more than a decade. It was a nightmare, I guess.

    Most of the dreams I remember are nightmares. I either have no dreams or a nightmare.

    These days all the nightmares are generally about my father.

    To be clear, he was not uhm, abusive in most ways (other than cheating on mother). It's just a nightmare because I'll talk to him and then wake up crying.

    @RebekahWSD oh I'm sorry. I ask too many questions. I wasn't suggesting that your dad was an abuser, honest. xo

          @RebekahWSD I almost never remember my dreams as an adult. As a kid I had so many dreams.

            @Lizette603_23
            I had one that occurred maybe three or four times only. And happened over the course of just five years or so. I was about four years old when I had that first dream. The dream was so frightening though and at such a formidable time of my childhood that I'm convinced it shaped a profound aspect of my character. That is that I have a terrible and irrational fear of people leaving me. Yeah, I have a fear of abandonment in relationships.

            The dream was of my mother and I walking through the woods. We came to a house, sort of little red riding hood style or Goldilocks/three bears-ish. She left me there with an old woman and said she needed to do something and would come back a few days later and she never did.

              @WrenArcher @Lizette603_23 Oh I know that abandonment fear. 😔

              That’s a scary dream for a child.

                  Another question I always have for others, do you "see" things in your dreams through your own eyes in the dream or are you observing yourself as well as others? I always see everything from slightly behind my right shoulder and about a head length higher. SO BIZARRE. Many of my memories of waking life from the way back are that way as well
                  omg maybe I'm totally whacked

                    @Lizette603_23 After working as a newspaper reporter and digital journalist for 35 plus years, I have deadline dreams. Working on a story, deadline looms, and I cannot come up with a lede, I've got nothing! Weird occupational artifact.

                      @Lizette603_23

                      I had a recurring nightmare over decades based on something that I did when I was very young. Even though I remember every detail of the event, the nightmare was more vivid and painful, which haunted me until I finally relented and transitioned. Now it is symbolic and brings me great peace.
