The deeper concern - never mind that it is incorrect, a mechanical drawing is a legal contract. Incorrectly calling out dimensions or tolerances results in contractual issues between customers or vendors, and liability issues for the engineers approving the drawings.
I'm sure I'm not the first to note the problem - but when the solution is so simple - like watermarking, putting guardrails that mechanical drawings cannot be generated - it is worrisome what this means for engineering.
A key premise of the last 300 years of progress is interchangeable parts. Screw that up with generative #AI, and we're back to hand-crafting. Everything physical that is made relies on it. Even the data centers that AI relies on couldn't be built anymore if we start vibe drafting.
