Acrobat. I hung onto a license for years until The Slop started a year or so ago.
Now I use Bluebeam. I asked the IT boffins to remove Acrobat from my PC and was delighted to discover it gone a week ago.

also acrobat. I only needed it for tax prep and uh NoooooOOO! with the AI for especially THAT. -
@bruce I didn't know that, but I assume all tech companies are these days. They refunded me, and those are the last of my dollars they'll ever see.
They've spent years trying to repair their reputation, but I still don't trust them. Maybe they're better now. Maybe not. But I keep Maya Angelou's warning close at heart.

Oh I know.
But they aren't pushing it in my face. It's there as an option if I feel so inclined and I hope it stays that way.Acrobat popped open a "Did you know you can do an AI thing?" window with almost every mouse click.

@hacks4pancakes I just bought a domain from GoDaddy, and it added an AI chatbot to my temporary landing page...that I couldn't turn off. I got a refund and took my business elsewhere.
@alice Where’d you go? I’ve been satisfied with namecheap, but heard they recently got VCed, so am bracing for awfulness.

Seriously, this particular university's relentless promotion of LLMs really wears me down. They also seem to have a deal with Microsoft, where they require every professor to have a slide promoting Copilot while discourage using ChatGPT. Someone probably has a lot of money in their pocket in this process
