    The truism 'justice delayed is justice denied' is becoming an ever wider depiction of how the legal system works across England & Wales.

    So news that workers & employers are waiting up to five years for an employment tribunal on claims for unfair dismissal is both no surprise & a confirmation of the shocking state of the legal system.

    Respect for the rule of law depends on it efficacy in actually delivering judgements - no wonder its being lost!

      @ChrisMayLA6 I have never understood, how can a two-party system be called democratic.

        @ChrisMayLA6 perhaps the answer is to swiftly pass an amendment that any claim for unfair dismissal automatically rules in favour of the employee, if case takes >6/12 to reach tribunal, with full restitution and two years salary as compensation. Watch business lobby government PDQ to fund justice properly.....if taxes on companies with turnover of more than £5 m have to rise to fund it then so be it.

        *Edited to set time to hear case, to increase pressure on govt.

          @peterhorvath

          Well, we do in the UK have more than two parties... the dominance( in the east) of two parties is more about the voting system (and what it achieves) than in the number of parties...

            @ChrisMayLA6 Ok but these guys in the Parlament. They make their speeches, they make their votes. Meanwhile, they all know, it is totally meaningless, because everyone votes for his party and against the other. They play as if some decisions would depend on the speeches. They waste their precious life sitting there. Then, they vote. If it is coming from the opposite side, they vote against it. If it is coming from the own side, they vote for it.

            Why this is then for? In the reality, a closed circle in the ruling party is making the decisions, this all is only a theater.

            Also the king is part of the theater. The parlament could replace him any time if they would want. He can only exist because that is the law (made by the parlament).

            And it is going so since centuries!!!

              @ChrisMayLA6

              I used to be Police Staff, taking public and emergency calls and performing initial criminal investigation. I have completely lost faith in the law in the UK, especially since coming out as trans and inter.
