@BonfireAtNight The older a SF series gets, the more I think of it as a theatre play on a stage. Helps with the special effects:)

@BonfireAtNight I'm recently doing the same. After enduring the first season, I noticed the effects got better and/or I got kinda used to them and they don't take me out of the story anymore.

@BonfireAtNight When it came out its SFX ate Star Trek's for lunch. Really revolutionary, even the clunkier ones in the pilot. Even when Trek moved to full CGI in Voyager and Enterprise they still didn't seem to have the faintest idea of what to do with them.
But time catches up to us all.

@Nonya_Bidniss Oh yeah? It seems to be really something else. And I've heard that it was planned from beginning to end, by (mostly) one writer. So hopefully less struggle in later seasons.

@riidom Haha, I like that! I think it makes use of cardboard set pieces? So it's kind of literally true?

@toddz I'm still undecided if they take me out. It kind of feels like the first PlayStation visuals are part of the package.
But yeah, wouldn't mind if it got somewhat better I guess.

@BonfireAtNight It was envisioned as 5 seasons before it began, yes. When it first came out I wouldn't watch it. I was a lifelong trekkie and even the look of the show was ridiculous to me. I didn't take it seriously. Several years later I was ready for it. And now I've watched the whole thing 3 or 4 times.
