It'll probably depend on the shape of your head: my large but long and narrow head fits quite well in a POC helmet.

@griotspeak@soc.mod-12.com When I biked for my commute I used a skateboard helmet because my hair didn't fit in a bike one. There was no law mandating a specific helmet, so I don't know if that solution still applies.
