    @nagirin she remembers the recipe she wants to make but cant be bothered to go find it. its written down somewhere i literally got her the box of recipes and she didnt even understand that thats what i wanted of her cause she wasnt playing any attention whatsoever

    @coolbean The rare time I try to talk to my parents, especially mother. She just looks at her phone and I have to keep repeating her name until she finally gives me at most 15 seconds of attention.

    It's absurd that when we were younger our parents complained that we used our phones too much but now it feels like Gen Z and younger millenials are the only people with a (relatively) healthy relationship to computers. (far from saying everyone has)

          @coolbean Yeahhhh my parents are gen X and they're cooked too. The only person in my family that isn't absorbed by screens is my grandma who I guess technically falls under silent generation

Luddism is a very specific petite-bourgeois movement to protect artisanal labour against centralisation and effectivisation of capital. Luddites weren't against technology they were against the factories threatening their artisanal craft. It's a reactionary line of thinking.
