    Look, SCOTUS is going to decide in favor of taking away the right to vote at every turn. We know that. Republican leaders are going to push for laws that disenfranchise voters. We know that. It won’t be a free and fair election. We knew that in 2020. People are going to have to stop fucking around, and they’re going to have vote, vote intelligently, and produce overwhelming results. That may still not be enough, but it’s what we’ve got.

    @mcnado @GlennMG
    Plus people who believe in democracy have to turn out in the Dem primaries this year and in 2028. You have to have a Senate and president who will pack the court otherwise it will keep undermining democracy.

        @mcnado
        An especially, vote for the candidate who is NOT MAGA, not GOP - even if they don't meet your standards A clothespin vote, just like the French did in 2002 to keep Le Pen from gaining power.

        Too many Americans stayed out of the 2024 Presidential vote - and the result has been horrific.

            @Mannanan @PhoenixWright given that the US has nuclear weapons, which are spread across multiple regions and at sea, civil war here would be a risky proposition for the world.

              @em_and_future_cats @mcnado Hungarians, like Ukrainians, have had their share of dictators and really don't want another. They get it, US voters do not.

                @mcnado well, in addition to that we have the Full Stop--- the general strike and boycott. Let's do it all. Capitalism is the problem and WE are the solution.

                  @mcnado If we could just get over this whole "Democrats aren't good enough, so we should punish them by not voting for them" thing.

                  I get it. The Corporate Democrats are Republicans in disguise. But A. most of them aren't full blown nazi (yet) and B. nearly all votes are on party lines these days, so if Democrats don't have a majority, Republican win by default and Republicans *ARE* full nazis. (Yes, the two party system is a dumpster fire full of soiled diapers. You won't fix it by not voting)

                    @mcnado We really really really need to work on getting the plane's engines running again first. Yes, I get it, the wings are falling off hanging by a thread and that's a huge whopping problem, but can we please focus on getting the engines running again and pull up first, then fix the wings? We're already at terminal velocity.

                        @mcnado @octothorpe It may take a revolution to stop the corruption of these crime families. At least in the US, the system has been rigged to hell.
                        Hungary gives me hope, but US corruption runs so deep. And there are just so damn many evil, cruel, and willingly stupid people.
                        We have to find common cause to stop them.

                              @PhoenixWright @mcnado An even worse take then. Pretending "both parties" are making claims with equivalent truth values, and are equally contemptuous of their voters, to say nothing of the population generally, is a genuinely sophomoric perspective.

                                Donald is saying "BoTh SiDeS tHe SaMe" is an ignorant lie

                                the Democrats suck, but they aren't the fascist GOP. and the choice matters. you, your mindlessly cynical words, are merely helping fascism. cynicism is acceptance. and you know that, and you're a troll helping MAGA, or you don't, and you're a fool

                                we need to fucking vote
