I'd like to like Vivaldi, I really would.

    But it seems rather spotty.

On mobile the built-in adblocker function is OK.

On PC, for some strange reason, it's really not working. Basic non-malicious-but-borderline ads (like the ones that are a hidden overlay on the page to hijack clicks) just go straight through.

Also, when using it for streaming, sound seems to randomly be missing (not seen in OS, which admittedly is Win11), and only a random number of restarts seems to fix it.

Granted, the sound issue could be due to the adblocker, I didn't bother testing that.

And also granted, I didn't try anything super special to fix this. I didn't try to install a separate adblocker, for instance.

I just got a different browser and uBlock Origin. Soz.

@androcat i mean, ublock origin works well in vivaldi. that's how i use it. vivaldi's own adblocking is just the second line of defence

@Stoori @androcat I try to go back to Vivaldi regularly, but uBO Lite is just not *quite* as good for me as the full uBO on FF. But I grant our usecases prolly differ enough to account for this.
