@blinry to hug the mountain. To envelop that mountain.

On the ascent, I got to practice my nǐhǎo a lot, the trail was somewhat busy!

People seem surprised, but happy, when I try. And then often respond something I don't understand. 😬 Maybe meaning "good luck, you can do it"?

And I got an English "Welcome to China!" 😛

@blinry they probably look confused because Shenzhen doesn't have a lot of white people, let alone white people who bother learning any Chinese. Could you attempt to romanize what they say back to you? I speak a bit and my wife speaks more (we currently live in China for work) so I might be able to tell you what they're saying.

Now down again! Having luck with the season, a lot of blooming Rhododendron bushes.

@blinry Ich finde es besonders schön, wenn die Blüten im Mondlicht leuchten.

Let's climb a mountain! This is the entrance of the 碧桐道 trail, leading to the top of Mount Wutong.

@blinry Great photos and view! BTW I forget, what's the geological term for steps that naturally form up a mountain, sometimes with handrails?

@blinry holding on to phrases from another language is hard so I completely understand!

My report was cut short by the chaos.social outage today, but I had a nice (but exhausting) hike down on the other side of the mountain! 🙂

A bit below the top, there was a little convenience store, and numerous drink vending machines.
