Indigenous Mexican athletes dominated the Great Wall of China Marathon

Five Rarámuri and Mixtec runners swept the 23rd Great Wall Marathon — two golds, two silvers, one bronze.

Elite Mixtec athlete Miriam Morales Hernández, 20 years old, took first place by shattering the women's half-marathon (21km) record by nearly 6 minutes, at 1:38:49.

All five athletes are part of "México Imparable," the program President Claudia Sheinbaum launched in 2025 to take indigenous athletes to the world stage.
