    I'm not squeamish about allowing our bases to be used for strikes, but our basis for allowing them is always based on our interpretation of whether they would be legal or not.

    And the deal holds no bearing on that.

      Incidentally, given Farage and Ian Duncan Smith lobbying on this issue against His Majesty's Government abroad, I'm somewhat inclined to think we need an equivalent of the US's Logan Act — which makes unauthorised diplomacy on behalf of the nation illegal.

      The far right populist wave across the world is a common community seeking to undermine the legitimacy of democracy everywhere. That they can organise to spoliate an elected government's diplomatic efforts is abhorrent.
