    @Vivaldi
    Sigh, it seems like I'm back where I started.
    I used the Opera browser for years when first coming to Linux. I just managed to pay to remove the nag banner before It went free 😁
    Then when it became just another chrome clone I switched to #Firefox, but given the latest "We heard you and we don't give a shit; here's some more AI" it seems I'll be giving #Vivaldi a try.
    I have also been switching to #LibreWolf. Let's do a real A-B test 😀

          @Vivaldi Really thinking about switching to Vivaldi now as this is a feature I wanted for years already.. But I dont really want to give Google a complete monopoly on their rendering engine 😞

          @BafDyce we understand the dilemma, our team is still upset about the demise of the Presto engine, but we eventually had to choose what was best for our browser given the size of the team and the compatibility issues given the state of the internet. We contribute to the improvement of the web in as many ways as we can, but creating a browser engine from scratch was just not a viable option.

            @mousetech

            In Settings > General > Productivity Features, do you have only Feeds enabled or Mail, Calendar and Feeds?
            If only Feeds then opt temporarily for Mail, Calendar and Feeds.

            AFAICT, the bug has been fixed already, but needs to go through its usual rounds of testing before it reaches stable.

              @Vivaldi New tab features for everyone else, but not for me... try to drag a tab to tile it on a touchscreen and boom the browser locks for about 60 seconds, then just puts it in a new window once it unlocks.

                        @Bassel1000 What do you mean by AI? AI is a buzzword. To solve a problem, you have to be specific: first of all, what problem do you want to solve?

                                @veroandi @Vivaldi @Bassel1000 you could say the same for translation services, yet Vivaldi includes one right in the browser so people won’t use Google Translate.

                                Which is good. Because we can trust Vivaldi that their service is privacy-focused. But when a service is not provided by Vivaldi, people will have to find alternatives.

                                Some of us know about Duck AI or Euria by Infomaniak, but many others will just open ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

                                This is a loss for privacy.

                                  @Vivaldi as a person who always recommends Vivaldi to friends wanting a better browser, I am wonder if the AI-hating niche is a good target for spreading Vivaldi to as many users as possible. 😅

                                  I remember when you announced that Vivaldi would bypass the browser checks on Bing Copilot, that was very welcome news. More choice for people is always a good thing.

                                    @Vivaldi is "AI" used when making Vivaldi?

                                      Love Vivaldi, just wish the mobile version was a little more feature rich.

                                        @Vivaldi what will you do when Google removes XSLT support from Blink?

                                          @Vivaldi vertical, collapsible tab panel?

                                          I keep checking, but not going to use it until that arrives.
