Ok, #Jazz people, assume my favorite song is Take Five by Dave Brubeck. Assume I love "spy movie" jazz. Assume I know about the ancestors.

Lay some wisdom on me, my cats and kittens. Who's wailin' in the modern jazz scene I oughta dig?

I think he was talking to me, and you just got tagged in by nature of how the thread sometimes appears. We're old friends, he was being silly. No harm, no foul.

@MissConstrue Not sure if this is what you've got in mind, but Martina DaSilva sings lots of classics and has a fantastic voice: https://martinadasilva.bandcamp.com/

@biogeo I lean more towards instrumental when I'm painting, I guess my language processing center has to be disengaged for my color processing center to work. 😉 That said, her voice is astonishing, and I really appreciate the suggestion. She will go into rotation.

@MissConstrue If you like Kendrick Lamar and Shaw Brothers movies, Kamasi Washington is worth a listen. His triple LP ‘The Epic’ is Big Jazz
