Did you know there are hot & dry places, esp. in USA where it's forbidden to have outdoors clothes drying, even on a whirrlygig "patio" line.
They use electric tumble dryers.

@simonzerafa I have the same dryer at home and I also have a very low energy consumption washing machine. It's a top-loading one.
