AGI - Al Foro Italico, a margine dell’evento “Voto alle donne 1946-2026”, la campionessa olimpica Francesca Lollobrigida ha parlato con emozione del proprio percorso sportivo e personale, soffermandosi anche sulle parole pronunciate dalla presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni.
“È stato veramente bello, soprattutto molto toccante il discorso della presidente Meloni e io porto con me queste due medaglie anche come simbolo, perché sono arrivata al cuore degli italiani per la mia storia di mamma e di mamma atleta. Non ho voluto rinunciare né alla carriera né al fatto di essere una mamma e lo devo a un lavoro di squadra molto forte, di mio marito, della mia famiglia, del mio corpo sportivo dell’Aeronautica, della federazione che hanno creduto in me. Non si sono fermati all’idea di questa sfida, ma hanno lottato con me e i risultati si sono visti”.
La risposta alle polemiche e il ruolo di esempio
Lollobrigida ha poi commentato con serenità le polemiche nate dopo la sua partecipazione al Festival di Sanremo, quando Carlo Conti l’aveva definita “mamma d’oro”: "No, non mi ha dato fastidio perché secondo me è stato un gioco di parole, anzi io magari mi sarei definita mamma bis oro perché ne ho vinte due. Io il percorso che ho fatto l’ho fatto proprio con questa intenzione, perché nel mio sport a livello internazionale - quindi non solo italiano - sono stata la prima ad aver deciso di intraprendere questo percorso quindi spero veramente di essere stata di esempio per le mie compagne di oggi e future. Anche la Federazione è stata di esempio perché mi ha supportato in questo e posso solo che esserne orgogliosa”.

At the Foro Italico, on the sidelines of the “Vote for Women 1946-2026” event, Olympic champion Francesca Lollobrigida spoke with emotion about her sporting and personal journey, also dwelling on the words spoken by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

“It was truly wonderful, especially very touching the speech by Prime Minister Meloni, and I carry these two medals with me as a symbol, because I reached the hearts of Italians for my story as a mother and an athlete mother. I didn't want to give up either my career or the fact of being a mother and I owe it to a very strong team of work, my husband, my family, my athletic body of the Aeronautica (Air Force), and the federation who believed in me. They didn’t stop at the idea of this challenge, but they fought with me and the results were seen.”

Response to criticism and the role as an example
Lollobrigida then calmly commented on the criticisms that arose after her participation in the Sanremo Festival, when Carlo Conti had called her “golden mother”: “No, it didn’t bother me because, in my opinion, it was a word game; in fact, I might have defined myself as ‘mother two’ gold because I won two of them. I undertook this journey with this intention, because in my sport at an international level – so not just Italian – I was the first to decide to undertake this journey, so I truly hope I have been an example for my teammates today and future.” The Federation was also an example because it supported her in this and she can only be proud of it.”
