    Periodic reminder that "the Jews" are not your enemy. Yes, fuck Israel and fuck Zionism. But:

    1. It's a lie that all Jews are Israeli citizens or are in the IDF;
    2. Most of us don't know anyone in the Israeli government; and
    3. There are shitty people in every community, and that includes ours.

    @theleftistlawyer

    Zionism is a political ideology.
    Judaism is a religion.

    So ya, different things.

    JFNA survey (2026) found 37% US Jews IDed as zionist; 8% as non-zionist; 7% as anti-zionist, and 48% as none of the above. 88% support Israel's right to exist (the original definition of "zionism").

    It seems the discomfort of US jews with "zionism" today is rooted in opposition to Netinyahu/Likud's violent and expansionist re-expression of "zionism", rather than abandoning OG zionism itself.
