Meet Rabbit, the REAPER Accessibility Bootstrap & Bundle Installation Tool, your one and only tool to keep REAPER and all its extensions up to date.
Rabbit does make sure to update REAPER, OSARA, SWS, ReaPack, ReaKontrol, JAWS Scripts and FFMpeg on Windows and Mac, no matter if ARM or x64. It comes as a single executable that you can run and forget whenever you want. For nerds it also contains a CLI application that can be used to automate mass installations etc.

https://github.com/Timtam/rabbit/releases/tag/v0.1.0Rabbit is just getting started. I'm planning to add support for other scripts, e.g. scripts that are known to be particularly helpful for blind and VI people working with REAPER, and more.
Disclaimer: the app was developed by professional software developer with more than 15 years of experience under their belt, but with the help of AI to speed up the development process. If AI conflicts with your oppinions and views, feel free to skip RABBIT alltogether. -

I thought it only worked with a particular version.

@acerbt REAPER 7.66 introduced support for FFMpeg up to version 8, including hardware encoding/decoding support and multi track audio for videos.

https://github.com/Timtam/rabbit/releases/tag/v0.1.0@ToniBarth Does it manage a REAPER-specific instance of FFmpeg and leave the other one(s) on my system alone?

https://github.com/Timtam/rabbit/releases/tag/v0.1.0@ToniBarth Hey Tony. Would you consider using universal binary for Mac OS rather than separate architecture-based binaries? I think the naming may be super-confusing for beginners in the “assets” section. I ran the "open me first” and, even though it claimed the removal of “gatekeeper" restrictions, they were actually not removed for me. I am on Mac OS 26.4.1.

https://github.com/Timtam/rabbit/releases/tag/v0.1.0@ToniBarth Can I run this without having any of them installed and will it install them for me? Or do I need to have them set up initially, and it will just upgrade. On Windows that is.

@vick21 Yeah, I've heard that it doesn't work for some people. I'll look into it, although it'll be just hit or miss since I can't test it myself.

@vick21 Yeah, I can certainly try to get a universal binary into my workflow. Thanks for the suggestion.
