That’s it, after that we would never ever ask you to verify ever again
Sooo if you see a DM or post that says otherwise it’s a scam, always!
Again, we do not verify anything nor would we ask for this!

Thank you for making that clear Stux! -

@stux me looking at my single-user instance which can't send emails:

If you operate a web site, that can be verified as part of your Mastodon profile.
Edit: to be clear, site verification doesn't involve email either.

@stux could you add more setting option in phone app? Cos whenever we need to change our setting we need to sign in through website.

@GOKUSHRM There are lots of different Mastodon phone apps developed by different people, and they've all implemented different subsets of the Mastodon functionality. Only the web version has all the "canonical" functionality of Mastodon.
You could contact the developers of the specific app you're using to ask them to add more settings functionality. (There's probably an about page somewhere in the app.) But be gentle, they're generally volunteers doing it in their spare time and have to prioritise the most popular or the most critical functions.

@GOKUSHRM I can't really answer that, I just tried a couple that people recommended and decided which one I liked best for myself. That was a few years ago so I can't even remember what else I tested or what the differences were.
A lot of it is UI, yes. Some will have more motivated developers so will keep up-to-date with new Mastodon features more quickly. Different developers have different things they're interested in too. Some might focus on filters, some might make quote-boosts work really smoothly.
I don't know if any have focused on advanced settings. I suspect that's less likely since most advanced settings are things you set up once and forget, so the app developers figure they'll focus on things people will be doing on the app every day instead. But you could try a few different apps to see. https://fedi.tips/which-apps-can-i-use-should-i-use-the-official-app-or-a-third-party-app/ lists some common ones and provides a good general explainer about apps too.

@stux That's not the whole truth: If you operate an internet site, site verification is an alternative. That’s what I did…
