I'm using Flicky as a F-Droid frontend, because F-Droid is unusable, too, if your only means of interaction are Back, Arrow Keys and Enter/Return.

P2Play it is, even if the search doesn't search all instances at once like with the Official Client, but that maybe due to ressources.

There is a request for a AndroidTV native client by framatube for some years but nothing happened till now. So Peertube is no Youtube compatitor for me on AndroidTV.
Maybe Kodi with an addon is an alternative? -

I also use a current Mi Box S in my living room, but yeah if you are good with P2Play than there is no need for Kodi. I think i will alos give P2play a try because i want to watch funfacts on tv. -
