    @Strandjunker We *are* the ‘system’.

    #Americans have *allowed* the #MAGA cult and #BananaRepublicans to ‘drain the Treasury’ and trash the reputation of the #UnitedStates by *refusing* to abandon the party system that the #FoundingFathers *intentionally* left OUT of the #Constitution. They saw that that it was a cancer on #UKpol - with Whigs and Tories responsible for the same corruption #Democrats and #Republicans wallow in now.

    Use #math to flush the 💩, #PrimaryFromTheCenter.

    @ChemicalEyeGuy@mstdn.science While I completely agree with you, I just wanted to point out that putting hashtags into the text makes it hellish for those of use screen reeders.

      This is easily the saddest time in American history. The absolute worst people are systematically destroying the country, and our system is completely failing to stop them.

      @Strandjunker It's not the system that's flawed; the problem lies with the greedy and utterly incompetent people within it.
      The system does have checks and balances, but the people are either too corrupt or too stupid to use them.

        @Strandjunker
        It's never the system that does the stopping, it's always the people.

          @Strandjunker

          There is no "The System". It is people. But for all Americans' bluster about fighting for freedom, and an entire amendment about it, they're pretty complacent.

              @Strandjunker @briankrebs when the system fails, you shutdown the country. General strike. Everyone everywhere. You can’t wait two years.

                @Strandjunker As are the people. That's the actually sad part.

                  @Strandjunker The system is what it results in. So, the system is working - that's precisely what it was set up to do. We are in late-stage capitalism, and, even more than most countries, the US has been setup this way. Wonder why so many Americans are now thinking that socialism might not be a bad thing after all...

                      @xs4me2 @Strandjunker That's probably where it's headed. Unless a civil war breaks out, that is.
