@chipchirp Is that a homemade case? I have a Trogotronic one that has a similar hardshell style. I was wondering if other companies made them and how much they sold for.

@schamspeare i am making a custom case and documenting it (YouTube is my current place to upload), but this specific case is a “Power Lunch” Eurorack case. They can be pricey especially if they are sold used with gear in them, this one came with a power bus and some other utility bits.
But here’s a protip regarding cases: smoke shops that are boutta go out of business, they sometimes sell these pelican knockoffs for cheap. They are sealed up enough that stoners apparently trust them to be smell-proof; and I assume they’re at least robust enough for travel.
I use those for weird-size gear and use the foam to seat the oddware, please see attached:

@schamspeare tl;dr power lunch-boxes are themselves worth $200-ish.

@chipchirp I guess I misinterpreted the size. I wouldn't buy anything too small. My Trogotronic one is 168 hp. Tons of power. Pretty much a perfect size. And even though I don't carry it around very much, I like the solidity of the pelican-style case. Still a pretty good value, I think. Haven't seen anything more affordable.

@chipchirp Love the stickers. I should have the courage to do the same. I've got lots of eurorack brand stickers and nowhere to put them.

@schamspeare flight cases? Might have to deal with a bit too much space, they don’t necessarily come in eurorack dimensions.
Here is my project. The rack is a 104HP rack, but i might only be able to fit like ~101 or something.

@chipchirp Heavy duty. Is 104 enough for you? In theory, I love the idea of small racks — I could dream them up on Modular Grid all day, but in practice I need a little more. I have a 208 case and the 168, and even with those I am near constantly rearranging them. With a smaller case, I think that tendency would be exacerbated even further.

@schamspeare im new to eurorack but i have a lot of strangely shaped oddware. This is the most expansive my gear has ever been. I get the ceiling for this hobby is high, but my wee girl-arms can’t lug just anything about.

@chipchirp You’re carrying it from place to place, eh? Mine basically don’t go anywhere. No modular community where I live, and I think I’d be scared to take it anywhere anyway. Still prefer cases to open-ended wall racks, though. I like conceiving of the case as an instrument, like the Buchla easel, and I’m always trying to find the perfect assemblage of modules. It’s hell for my OCD tendencies, though.

@schamspeare i accumulated them over years until I was like, unemployed, I mean inspired by the muses (of unemployment)
