my driveway is compacted gravel with a strip of scraggly grass down the center. 3 years ago a tree was removed by this humongous piece of machinery that easily weighed 10's of thousands of pounds. the result of this is the driveway tire tracks got compressed and the center ridge is very high. every spring I think about leveling the driveway. this will be more easy if the ground is saturated and spring is the time to do it (snow melt/rain). this year is the year I finally do it. a pick axe is $35

It costs more, but I'd recommend having a new load of gravel brought in. Raise the low bits.
