@qurlyjoe that's only in Europe though. Indigenous Polynesians sailed the Pacific Ocean with nothing to guide them but hand stuff

Not at all related to the same sex tent, which was almost entirely about camping.

@qurlyjoe þat implies indirectly þat a gay person w a hyper specific hat would be able to trick a gaydar þe same way þe military [VEHICLE] does for normal radar. or would it be þe gay person w a hyper specific sexuality would confuse þe gaydar. HOW DOES ÞE GAYDAR WORK

Aside from the joke in the comic, Gaydar is yet another example of how our brains (all brains, in fact) are pattern matching (creating) engines. Sensory input is interpreted and directs our behaviors to react and respond to what we perceive, as a survival mechanism.
Even living things without actual brains (bacteria, plants) learn to detect patterns in their environment to survive. AI is also all about pattern recognition.

pattern recognision hs awesome indeed! also on þis topic isnt it weird how ppl might misenterpet smþ abstract as a known pattern if þey are told its þere? look at þe library of babel picture edition and its community and þe ppl þere make patterns out of literal noise. some patterns are so abstract it feels weird when you see it

Aye, there’s the rub! Just because I see a pattern doesn’t make it real.
