I want to extend my RC2014Pro with a keyboard. I already have a TMS9918-based video card and want to get rid off the serial connection. What kind of keyboard are you using? PS2? USB? MSX? ZX81?

I want a "real" keyboard, not a hardware terminal with Arduino, Pic or Raspberry Pi. I'm using RomWBW and mostly CP/M but sometimes Basic as well. Would be great if the keybord is supported by both.

Dino Boards seems to have a break for a year, their MSX-keyboard and card was my first choice but it's no longer available at Tindie.

@littlealex I use an RP2040 VGA Terminal (https://z80kits.com/shop/rp2040-vga-terminal/) Whilst this is primerily a VGA output device, it also has USB keyboard input for a standalone machine. You can ignore the VGA side and just use the USB keyboard with your TMS9918 module.

Also note that @dinotron now sells on Lectronz so you should be able to find his MSX keyboard on there.

@rc2014 @dinotron I have seen this board, but it's just a hardware terminal converting serial to graphics, not a "real graphic card", so is the keyboard.

Thank's for the info about Dino Boards. I will check the other store. Would be great to have a real matrix keyboard! ๐Ÿ™‚

@littlealex @dinotron I used to sell a matrix keyboard (https://www.tindie.com/products/Semachthemonkey/universal-micro-keyboard/) however, without a lot of modification to every RC2014 ROM image, it was only really useful with the onboard Atmel chip to turn it in to a serial keyboard.

            Hi @littlealex

            (@rc2014 thanks for the shoutout)

If you have the TMS9918, you can pair that with my MSX compatible keyboard. There are fully operational drivers in RomWBW.

            https://www.dinoboards.com.au/stegosaur/ppi-and-keyboard/

If you want to upgrade to 80 column display, you can also checkout my video options (original V9958 RGB or HDMI for RC)

I sell em on Lectronz and have my own store (10% discount) - look at the Buy links from my main site.

@dinotron @rc2014 Funny, I was already following you, so you must wrote something interesting in the past. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was confused because on Tindie it's written you will make a break for a year, but I didn't know you have your own shop. Tindie is somehow still the goto address for shopping such stuff.

WHat you write are my exact thoughts, but then I was under the impression the keyboard is no longer available and was looking for alternatives.

                @littlealex

Thanks for the feedback about my #Tindie shop. Will try and see if I can make it clearer.

I have had to pause the #tindie shop as its new owner(s) have yet to enable payments to sellers - its all a bit dodgy over there at the moment.

There is my @lectronz store - it handles EU VAT for amounts less than 150 EUR

                https://lectronz.com/stores/dino-boards

And my personal shop - prices listed in $AUD and 10% discount.

If you have any questions - feel free to fire away

@dinotron @lectronz Yes, I noticed the drama, but I didn't connect the dots...

@littlealex @dinotron I think Tindie *was* the goto place for such stuff (apart from z80kits, obviously ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but it sold out recently to new owners that thought it was acceptable to take the website down for 8 days without any communication to sellers or customers, and not pay out to sellers.
A lot of sellers have set up shop on Lectronz as a safer alternative, and either closed their Tindie store or put it in to holiday mode until shit-show is over.
